Thermal management

Since 2010, the company has also been involved in heat treatment. This is when it renovated and commissioned the heat treatment line at the forge in Csepel. The system was primarily designed for the heat treatment of forged parts. It is equipped with an Aichelin-type two-zone transfer gas furnace and four tempering furnaces. We are also able to harden in oil - and Aqua Quench emulsion coolant. All our furnaces are equipped with air mixing for more homogeneous media properties and all heating diagrams are recorded and stored.

Heat treatment plant upgrade: new vacuum furnaces and technologies

In 2021, the management decided to add vacuum heat treatment to the portfolio, marking another milestone in the company’s life. We decided to invest in a unique furnace with unique furnace dimensions in Hungary, so it was definitely a goal to enter the contract heat treatment market. We had the advantage of a modern and specialised machine park and specialist knowledge, which allowed both tool designers and tool manufacturers to think beyond the usual range of sizes that had been common in the country. Our plant gives both tool designers and tool manufacturers the opportunity to think beyond the usual range of sizes that have been common in the country.

We are able to cool at up to 15 bars of nitrous pressure, or even incorporate a thermal expansion stage during cooling, thereby minimising the risk of warpage or breakage of tools with large cross-sectional clearances.

And with our vacuum-oil technology, we can also heat treat thicker tools that are more difficult to resize with nitro-gen cooling.

Our vacuum furnaces have the following dimensions: 900x900x1200mm and can be loaded with 1300 – 1500 kg. Maximum heating temperature is 1300 ˚C. As cooling medium we can use high pressure nitrogen or special vacuum oil.

The site has excellent accessibility, it is located directly next to the M6 motorway, and Érd is also bordered by the M7 motorway.

Applications

In 2020, Flansch – Tech Ltd. was able to spend HUF 270,264,000 on the development of heat treatment at the Érd site, which was made possible within the framework of the Covid 19 mitigation programme package. A key condition of the tender was a job retention commitment for the duration of the tender.

In 2021, another tender was launched to expand the heat treatment plant. The tender was submitted within the framework of the Széchenyi Plan Plus Economic Development and Innovation Operational Programme Plus, in which the company successfully participated and won the amount of HUF 340,920,000.
